Introduction

LeaveTrak is a utility to help manage the leave requests made by the various members of staff of a company.

Purpose

The purpose of this utility is to allow members of staff to submit requests for leave and to monitor the status of those requests. The Leave Requests are submited to the server application which is used by the member of staff responsible for leave. In this manner, the utility is designed to replace paper based leave management.

Design Features

The utility is currently in development and at present, only the prototype client application is available to view online. LeaveTrak is designed to be accessed and managed over a network such as may exisit in the majority of modern office environments. It is also designed to be hardware independent. The only requirements are the existence of a Java virtual machine to run the server and a Java enabled browser for the clients.

System Requirements

The only system requirements are as follows:

• An HTTP Server is required to serve the HTML pages for the remote clients.
• A java virtual machine (JDK 1.1.7 or above) is required on the server machine to run the LeaveTrak Server
• Java enabled browser is required on each client machine.
